Primary fan for boiler systems

The primary fan is the core equipment for fuel delivery and combustion control in the boiler system. Its main functions are as follows:

1. Pulverized coal drying and transportation

Hot primary air (heated by the air preheater) is provided to the pulverizing system to dry the pulverized coal and carry it to the burner; cold primary air is mixed with hot air to adjust the temperature and ensure stable operation of the pulverized coal pipeline.

In the direct-blowing pulverizing system, the primary air volume accounts for about 40%, which directly affects the fineness and drying efficiency of the coal powder at the pulverizer outlet.

2. Auxiliary combustion and stable combustion

It is mixed with pulverized coal in the burner to form a combustible mixture, providing initial oxygen for the combustion of volatiles and preventing fire extinguishing or coking.

The pulverizer inlet temperature (usually ≤120°C) is controlled by adjusting the ratio of hot and cold primary air to avoid excessive humidity in the pulverized coal or overheating of the equipment.

3. System Sealing and Safety

Provide sealing air for coal mills and coal feeders to prevent coal powder leakage and contamination of equipment.

Maintain the air seal of the air preheater bearing to prevent high-temperature flue gas from overflowing.

Typical application scenarios

Coal-fired boilers: Direct-blowing pulverizing systems (such as medium-speed pulverizers) rely on primary fans to transport pulverized coal.

Circulating fluidized bed boiler: The primary air passes through the air distribution plate to vulcanize the bed material and control the bed temperature (usually 850~950℃).

Precautions

The primary air volume needs to be adjusted dynamically according to the coal quality and load. Too low an air volume may easily lead to coking, while too high an air volume may reduce the bed temperature.

When igniting a cold furnace, ensure the minimum fluidizing air volume to prevent low-temperature coking.

Q: Can your packaging ensure the safety of the product?

We wrap the inlet and outlet of the fan, as well as the motor, with stretch film and then secure the fan in a wooden box, which can fully protect the product during transportation and handling.
